Payments, Discounts and Warranties

We are happy to accept cash, Visa, Master Card and Discover for your payment in our Garden Center. We will also accept your local, personal check for the amount of the purchase price. We do not accept third party or pay roll checks. We do not extend store credit to any accounts. A $20 handling fee will be assessed on all returned checks.

Senior Discounts

Every Wednesday is Senior Discount Day. Dennis Peaslee, Sr., the founder of Garden Spot Farm, began the tradition of offering a 10% discount to all our senior customers (62 and over). We are pleased to continue that tradition. But, we never assume your age and would never venture a guess. Please tell us at the time of purchase if you will be using your senior discount before we ring up the sale. We cannot issue the discount after the sale has been rung up. Thanks for your help.

Volume Discounts

We offer a volume discount of 10% on purchases over $250. Please inquire at the time of purchase. Volume discounts do not apply to sale items, store items or nursery plants.

Sales Tax

All our plants and store items (except those items used in the production of food) are subject to the Maine 5% state sales tax. If you are purchasing plant products for resale, you must produce a state tax exemption sheet or a state retail sales tax number.

Pricing

Prices listed in our catalog are subject to change due to seasonal demand and other factors. We reserve the right to change prices without notice. All sales are cash and carry. Delivery and packaging are extra.

Availability

Some of our plants may sell out early in the season. Early shopping is suggested to ensure your best selection, particularly for hard to find items. As always, we encourage you to call ahead to inquire about availability.

We warrant that the seeds and plants that we sell are, as described on the containers or labels, are within recognized tolerances. Garden Spot Farm greenhouse plants are guaranteed for one growing cycle provided proper care, nourishment and water has been provided. Nursery stock is guaranteed for one year from date of purchase provided proper care, nourishment and water has been provided. We encourage you to contact us at the first signs of any problems with your plants as early intervention may prevent plant failure.

Any failed plant must be dug up and returned to Garden Spot Farm for proper credit to be awarded. Guarantee is limited to store credit of original purchase price or equal replacement – no cash refunds.

Guarantee does not apply to snow/ice damage, salt, wind, insect/animal damage, poor transplanting methods, poor nourishment or poor watering habits. Garden Spot Farm reserves the right to inspect the plant location and to refuse credit or replacement for any of the above reasons.

Please retain your original Garden Spot Farm receipt for any warranty claims or returns.

Store items and plants may be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase for store credit. We do not offer cash refunds. Returns must be accompanied by your Garden Spot Farm receipt and must be in new, unused condition. Plants being returned must be in good, healthy condition and have been well watered and cared for. Plants in a deteriorating condition will not be accepted for return.
