Employment

Working at Garden Spot Farm

Garden Spot Farm accepts applications beginning in early March for full and part-time temporary positions. Our temporary positions run from late March to the beginning of June and are an excellent way for stay-at-home moms, students and others to work flexible hours, earn some extra income and learn a little more about plants, gardening and the business of greenhouses.

We look for punctual, conscientious people who enjoy working in a greenhouse and retail environment and who connect well with customers.

Types of Work

As a temporary assistant you may be asked to assist with the following tasks:

Transplanting & Potting: Involves greenhouse work, transplanting seedlings into 6 and 8 plant flats, potting up seedlings and small plants into larger size pots and readying for sale. Attention to detail is very important as this involves detailed hand work, transplanting and potting delicate seedlings and plants.

Cashier: Involves working in our retail Garden Center store, assisting customers, answering questions and ringing up sales. Must be patient, comfortable working with customers and become familiar with store products.

General Greenhouse Operations: Involves clean up work in the greenhouses, moving plants between greenhouses and into the retail store, moving inventory and providing general assistance. May require some lifting of heavier items such as mulch bags, pallets, flats of plants and other similar items.
